Music. Childish Gambino is back, firming up his presence as a serious rapper, as opposed to a rapper/actor. And then you got the rapper’s rappers like Roc Marciano and Jamall Bufford aka Buff 1 from the Athletic Mic League. As for the Luck and Lana release, there’s going to be a lot of flack that it’s not boom bap, backpacker hip hop. And it’s not. But in general I would think fans of Luckyiam.Psc and Living Legends would have a little bit more of an open mind, give it a chance, and let it sink in a bit before judging. This week also includes some candy electro a la miami vice/Drive soundtrack and some pretty interesting post-punk/alt-rock/good music/whatever you want to call it. Done.
