Another freakin week. Vex Ruffin, great lo-fi, punk approach to sampling and hip hop. The Thing, a great punk approach to jazz. Bun B is a hip hop standard, and while I’m admittedly not familiar with Kid Tsunami apparently the rest of the hip hop classics conglomerate is cuz his album features almost all of them including Kool Keith, Sean P, Prince Po, OC, Masta Ace, Thirstin Howl III, J-Live, Sadat X, Bahamadia, AG, Kool G. Rap, KRS, Buckshot, Pharoahe Monch, Jeru the Damaja, and more. Damn. The rest of the new releases run the gamut from from hip hop to kooky house to bordering on really cheesy japanese jazzy/funky/electronic. Womp womp.
