I’m a long time NetNewsWire user and as such I’m mostly isolated from this problem except for the fact that I sync my feed reading across laptops using Google’s Reader service. According to their blog they looked at Apple’s Core Data but it didn’t work as well as they’d hoped. I’m mostly on one laptop now so with the exception of reading from my phone I’ll probably get by though, I hope something gets figured out for NNW.

As an alternative a lot of my friends have suggested Feedly, which seems like a nice choice. I’m also anticipating Clever.io from Russell Beattie. I started reading his blog around 2002 during the infancy of the mobile web and while his post frequency has tapered off, Russell always has some great ideas and I really hope Clever.io takes off.
