I treat my email address and access to my Facebook like a daughter in high school and to those sites I say.

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

New Toy ChargeCard http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2013/08/new-toy-chargecard/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=new-toy-chargecard http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2013/08/new-toy-chargecard/#comments Tue, 06 Aug 2013 14:43:47 +0000 http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/?p=4495 I just received the fruits of my pre-order of a Kickstarter funded project and so far it’s pretty sweet. The ChargeCard feels solidly built, in the USA no less, is it the size of a standard credit card and the thickness of about three credit cards stacked together. I find it very handy to throw in my laptop bag and not have to worry about untangling a mess of cords when I want to connect my phone.

Actual size

For reference this is the ChargeCard next to a standard business card.

A well put article on people who are thanking God after disasters.

Jaded Dan thinks imagine if this ingenuity was applied to less destructive efforts. Technology Dan thinks imagine if these guys had 3D printers.

Acorn 4 – Photoshop for Developers http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2013/05/acorn-4-photoshop-for-developers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=acorn-4-photoshop-for-developers http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2013/05/acorn-4-photoshop-for-developers/#comments Mon, 06 May 2013 14:36:38 +0000 http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/?p=3708 I’m a developer by day and work for a very small company, as such I don’t have money to buy expensive tools. While I know Photoshop is the gold standard for design, the few times I’ve used it I found the interface very confusing and didn’t have the time or the energy to get up to speed. Enter Acorn from Flying Meat Software this tool hits the sweet spot. It has the ability to do a lot of things that I’ll probably never use but more importantly it gives me the ability to handle the smaller image manipulation tasks that come with my everyday job. Here’s video that shows one of the cool features I’d never be able to figure out in Photoshop.
