Huh? Huh? Well I’ve got a few lots up for auction on my ebay. Make is an awesome DIY technology on your own time build it yourself mag. Giant Robot is Asian pop culture and beyond including tons of great bands, amazing artists, movies, books; they introduced me to David Choe (literally and figuratively) and Kaws (featured in one of the issues). Speaking of David Choe he’s a common link between them and Vice magazine. Vice is rogue journalism, debauchery, and tits. And they’re seemingly really becoming a legit media outlet and have an upcoming series on HBO. Auctions end Sunday and/or Monday. Click on the pictures to see the auctions. Cheers!

Co-opted and Commodified http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2012/10/co-opted-and-commodified/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=co-opted-and-commodified http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2012/10/co-opted-and-commodified/#comments Sun, 14 Oct 2012 17:07:41 +0000 http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/?p=1761 I’m going to call this out and say this looks like a corporate stunt, looking to mooch publicity off of the “controversy” of “street art” (all quotes specifically intended).

I personally approve of making dough off of anything. Especially street art. Co-opt to the max. But I’m also pretty broke and would just like the money.

[ed. note- just realized this is outside a gallery in Paris. Same thing, all of the above still applies.]

Tupac/Animal Chin Bootleg T-shirt Of The Month http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2012/10/tupacanimal-chin-bootleg-t-shirt-of-the-month/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=tupacanimal-chin-bootleg-t-shirt-of-the-month http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/2012/10/tupacanimal-chin-bootleg-t-shirt-of-the-month/#comments Tue, 02 Oct 2012 18:00:01 +0000 http://commonfolkcollective.com/blog/?p=1670

Toronto’s No Fun Press has added another future/present classic. Cop one before they’re gone like…

“On May 29, 2011, PBS News Hour reported Tupac alive and well in New Zealand. Since that date, until spring of 2012, there was a widespread media blackout and coverup. Following ‘Pac’s appearance at a popular music festival, another cover story, this time involving “holograms” has been spread throughout social media.
No Fun has begun the only thing that seems logical at this point – a grassroots awareness campaign. Tupac Lives! HAVE YOU SEEN HIM”
