Ralf Hütter, of Kraftwerk, recently told Sash Frere-Jones, of The New Yorker, that he let the audience play Kraftwerk’s keyboard, in concert, “to show them that anyone could make electronic music.” The following is a track composed by “someone” and is not, per se, electronic music. But the insane coupling of The Smiths and New Orleans bounce can be traced to the industrial revolution that Kraftwerk championed. Anyone with a network connection and software can and do.
