So. Pretty damn healthy week with a slew of indie hip hop from chicago to the south to the east. Qwel and Maker always bring that quirky, dirty underground ish. And Aesop Rock gets even quirkier with Kimya Dawson as Uncluded. Then drops the real, real hardcore, boom bap classic precursor to the hip hop golden era, Just-ice, even if you don’t recognize the name you’re sure to know some of his songs. Classic! This week also brings some good indie/rock/punk/electronic music, Deerhunter is a bit of calming insanity, Savages is an all female post-punk group that will make you want to hurt yourself, and then there’s also some 80s synth that’ll make you want to put a fire in the fireplace.
