Dave Kinsey Opening @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Dave Kinsey was pretty hot on the graffiti/street art/blah blah scene a few years ago with his gestural portraits with blasts of color (similar/different from Doze Green). His style was pretty instantly recognizable for better or worse, it was great but I was also unsure how he’d progress and push it further. He’s been seemingly laying low for awhile but now he’s back with an opening thursday, December 13th at the Joshua Liner Gallery in nyc. FecalFace has a little sneak peak and Kinsey’s new work looks kinetically awesome, it’s great to see he’s still putting out such dynamic work. Check out more @ FecalFace.

This Is Horrible: McCartney To Replace Cobain For Nirvana Reunion Concert

Right about now I feel like China reading an Onion article. But alas it’s true, Paul McCartney is going to be lead singer for Nirvana. In my opinion Dave Grolsh has already done enough to belittle the ol’ band, I guess why not go all the way head first?

I will say this is pretty fitting for what already seems to be a behemoth of horridness that is the 12-12-12 concert for Sandy Relief to Benefit the Robin Hood Foundation. The line-up includes Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, the washed up Rolling Stones, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, and on and on. Basically a who’s who of past-their-time old white men. Oh, and Kanye West.

Two Bill O’Reilly Books

On a recent trip to a brick & mortar bookstore (yea I’m old school, I even have a landline), I saw two books by Bill O’Reilly prominently featured. The first about the assassination of Lincoln, the second about the assassination of Kennedy. Knowing the vile, racist, conservative opinions espoused by O’Reilly (encouraged by his employer Fox News) I find it interesting and ironically fitting that his two books are both about the assassination of two prominent progressive leaders who were also known for their stance on civil rights.

It begs the question, why is Oreilly writing about progressive presidents who were assassinated?

America Track

Amtrak continues its remarkable growth:

Amtrak announced that 737,537 passengers used its trains between Tuesday, Nov. 20, and Monday, Nov. 26. That breaks the record set last year, when the rail agency carried 724,051 riders; that, in turn, broke the record set in 2010 when 704,446 passengers took Amtrak; and that, of course, eclipsed the record-setting mark of 685,876 riders in 2009.
